An Untimely Acquaintance

We were at the party

I caught your eye

I was more than available

So you gave me a try

You liked me so much

That you held me all night

You didn't lose sight of me

Not once that night

You should have left me alone

What did you need me for?

But you just wanted more of me

As you were shuffled to the door

And predictably so

The party had died

So you took me in your car

For a little joy ride

You cranked up your music

You sang out loud

Speeding down the interstate

You were so proud

But you didnt know

You couldn't have guessed

That all else would end

In misery, distress

Now we're lying on the pavement

There is blood all around

I feel completely broken

As I lie on the ground

You close your eyes

You start to cry and wonder why

As if you know

That you will die

Why didn't you leave me?

Just have left me be?

I wasn't for you

You shouldnt have wanted me

You barely know me

You just met me tonight

So hi, Im the beer

That just stole your life
