Upromise - The Way to Save for College!

Is all this stress normal?!

Before I entered my junior year of high school, many of my teachers and senior friends warned me of the difficulties ahead. People have always told me that my junior year would be my hardest. Was it true? For me, yes! Your junior year will have many challenges, including SAT/ACT preparation, getting ready for the college-application process, joining school organizations, and most importantly, keeping up your grades!

My advice to all you juniors is to not let other people’s opinions and fears affect your ability to achieve. How will you make it through your junior year? By being organized. If you’re planning on going to college, I suggest that you start attending college and career fairs, visiting college Web sites and touring campuses. This way, you’ll be able to narrow your college choices and get valuable information about programs offered. You will be ahead of the game!

To reduce your stress during the school year, organize your schedule so that each day is equally divided into time for schoolwork, extracurricular activities, jobs and free time. Visit your guidance counselor on a regular basis to check on your academic status, and ask what improvements you should make during the semester.

During your junior year, there will be times when you feel overwhelmed. But keep in mind that you are in control. Make wise decisions, stay away from bad company, work hard, and maybe your junior year won’t be as hard as your think it will be!
