California Colleges. California didn’t earn the nickname, “The Golden State,” for nothing. Home to everything from the glamorous entertainment capital of the world to a vast array of paradise-inspired landscapes, this economic leader of the nation boasts a population of over 33 million residents. A list of the state’s largest cities reads like a “who’s who” list of major centers for cultural development: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, and Long Beach round out the top five.

Those interested in careers in the computer industry, law enforcement, and medical fields have plenty to look forward to in California; all three areas are projected to be at the top of the most wanted list by 2012. Large employers in the state include companies such as Boeing, Cisco Systems, Chase Manhattan, and Hewlett-Packard.
