|
Summary |
Since the advent of technology organizations rely on computer and information technology to conduct business and operate more efficiently. The rapid spread of technology across all industries has generated a need for highly trained workers to help organizations incorporate new technologies. The tasks performed by workers known as computer systems analysts, administrators, systems developers, or computer information specialists evolve rapidly, reflecting new areas of specialization or changes in technology, as well as the preferences and practices of employers.
|
Earning Potential: |
The salary for an entry-level computer tehnology is $40,000 per year, while most senior or managerial computer tehnologists make $71,000 per year. |
Work Environment: |
Computer technologists work in a comfortable office environment; however, they also spend very long hours in the office meeting important deadlines and fixing computer network and database problems that can occur at any time of day. The upside to this is that with the advent of telecommuting, many computer engineers can work some of their long hours from home. Though the hours are long, the benefits are good and there is generally two weeks paid vacation offered by most companies.
