Higher Education in Florida Colleges
Millions of people choose to call the Sunshine State their home, and for good reason. Along with the great weather, endless variety of activities, and no state income tax, there's also a thriving employment sector. Those looking for careers in tourism, health care, banking, criminal justice, and education are sure to find what they are looking for in Florida. The state offers 19 metropolitan areas from which to choose, including Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, and Orlando-Kissimmee.
Some of the largest employers in the state are found in the healthcare system and county governments. Hospitals employ large numbers of people, with the biggest ones being Florida Hospital in Orlando, Jackson Memorial in Miami, and St. Joseph's in Tampa. The Dade and Metro Dade County Police Departments are also large employers in the state. Those with degrees in nursing, accounting, criminal justice, education, and healthcare management will be in high demand. |
