Higher Education in Hawaii Colleges
The dream vacation spot for millions, most would consider the residents of Hawaii to be living in a 24-hour tropical fantasy. The state’s numerous islands provide a place to both live and work in relative comfort. Although taxes can be slightly higher than average, many economic opportunities offset the increased cost of living. Careers expected to be in high demand include management, accounting, financial management, and airline engineering.
Honolulu dominates the island of Oahu as both the capital and center of economic development. Other notable cities include Hilo, Kaneohe, and Kailua. While much of Hawaii’s success has been found in travel and tourism, other industries have recently been increasingly important to the state’s economy. Hawaii’s largest employers include the Bank of Hawaii, Queen’s medical Center, The Honolulu Police Department, and Aloha Airlines. |
