Higher Education in Maine Colleges
Famous for its rolling forests and scenic coasts, Maine delights residents of this northern New England state in several different ways. Seafood lovers also revel in the readily-available professional prepared cuisine that the state is famous for. While the state sees its share of harsh winters, it remains a popular tourist destination.
Although the state is relatively sparse in population, a few larger cities do exist.Portland (pop. 64,249), Lewiston (35,690), and Bangor (31,473) make-up the top three largest cities in the sate. Despite its small population, Maine is home to over 20 colleges and universities. Those who are seeking to bring their expertise have plenty to look forward to in the job market. Physician assistants, mental health workers, personal financial advisors, and social workers are expected to be the careers with the highest demand.
