Despite its vast open spaces and widespread prairies, North Dakota offers a wide variety of educational opportunities meant to lure in the best and brightest of students. In recent years the state has seen many degreed individuals make the move there. Grand Forks and Fargo are two of the state’s biggest cities that offer top-of-the-line public institutions; Minot is the site of a base operated by the United States Air Force. The state capital, Bismark, has a couple of hospitals.

Meritcare Medical Center Clinic, North Dakota State University, and Altru Health Systems are North Dakota’s largest employers.
