Higher Education in Rhode Island Colleges
Rhode Island has been considered by some as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The state’s economy is led today by healthcare, tourism, and manufacturing. Interestingly enough, Rhode Islanders have a stereotype for being superstitious. Regardless of any rumors, the true story behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula has been said to originated from some bizarre religious practices performed here in colonial times.
Providence is the state’s largest city, containing some of Rhode Island’s largest employers; Women and Infants Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and MetLife are a number of examples. College graduates in financial advising and computer technology are expected to be in great demand in the near future. The state is also in need of those with nursing degrees, as health services are the largest area of job availability. |
