Choosing Friends

When it comes to my group, most people label us as "geeks", but I don't think that is necessarily true. I prefer to think of us as outcasts. After all, we're not all really interested in the same thing the way most friends are. I mean face it; jocks tend to hang out with other jocks. Cowboys hang out with other cowboys. But with my friends, the only thing we have in common is being different. Take Katie. She is a world-class troublemaker. Then there is David, who loves to sew and cook. Jason and Kim love science fiction. And that is just four of us in the eight-member group. As for me I'm a goth/punk. The thing about me and my friends is that we don't judge each other by what we're into. We support each other and try to help each other out. That is what makes us so tight. I've seen horrible things happen in other groups. People stabbing each other in the back. That isn't friendship. But it is a good example of why you shouldn't hang out with somebody just because of what clique you're in. Take my advice, choose your friends carefully and you'll always have somebody at your back
