Back to School Blues

What's the first thing popping into your head when it's the last day of school and then the bell rings? Especially if you're in seventh grade and you can't wait to rest for a month with no work and no getting up early.

Well anyways for the last day of school in seventh grade, at Rancho Del Rey Middle School (RDRM), my school had a renaissance fair. It was explained to be very fun but it turned out to be very dull. I was happy to leave at the end of the day.

But before that, I was waiting for my grades. I was anxious to get them and then rush out of the room. When I did, I was delighted. I ran out not caring about anything or anyone. When I got home I thought I would be a lot gladder, but I wasn't.

For the next few weeks all I did was be lazy and sit around at home after a while I couldn't wait to get back to school. That's when it came time to come back I was so thrilled to be back in those buildings and walking those halls. I thought it would be a great day.

Well it all started waking up a little to early; I was trouble because I had slept very late that night. It was 6:30 a.m. and I was taking a shower, school started at 8:10. I had plenty of time. I went to change and eat breakfast and also did everything else needed in the morning I even had time to get all my supplies ready for school.

At about 7:45 I was completely ready. I was waiting for my ride to school since my best friend's mom also gives me a ride. I waited and waited and then waited some more. That's when I looked at the time it was 8:00. I got hysterical I didn't know what class to even go to and at 8:05 you're expected to be in the assigned class.

I rushed to the phone and called my friend I waited nervously. Suddenly her mom answered. I asked if she was going to pick me up. She said she had already left her daughter and asked if I wanted a ride I said it was okay. I dashed upstairs and asked my mom to take me.

She got up and we were on our way. When I arrived I ran to the paper that tells you where to report to. The bell rang and I ran to the class I was assigned. It turns out I looked in the wrong paper. I was so embarrassed I asked the teacher to tell me where the class I was supposed to report to.

She informed me where it was and I rushed their. When I got their, I received my locator card that tells me my schedule. When I went to my first class I was happy she seemed very nice. My second class was alright too.

My third class was the same class Spanish just at a higher level. All these classes were ok but my classes from last year were a lot better. When I got to fourth period I had science, the lady seemed very nice but I wasn't as used to her as I was last year to my science class.

Next was algebra the guy was very fun and cool. The only thing I didn't like about the class was that it was at the edge of the school and it was a small class. The worst was yet to come. When I got into my U.S. history class I got a great first impression of my teacher she was very fun.

I was the first one their as I looked outside waiting for kids to arrive I didn't see anyone I knew. I wanted to at least have one friend in my class, and I had none. By the end of the day I wanted to burst in tears I was furious I missed my seventh grade classes.

The next day I went to my counselor and she moved my two most boring classes' algebra and U.S. History. Now my schedule is perfect and isn't as depressing even though I haven't adjusted I'm very sure I will in the future.
