American Self- Esteem

Declining necklines and drooping jeans "Peek a boo".... A beautiful light brown leg flashes, then disappears and reappears. You watch as a beautiful girl walks away; the slit in her dress is more than a slit.

It goes all the way up to her.... never mind. Then you girls picture yourselves walking innocently down the hall in school, passing a bunch of boys, trying to get to class. And a guy bumps into you and you drop your books.

So he starts to help you pick them up, but all of a sudden his size XX pants just can't stay up anymore, then down they go: "peek a boo," and they practically fall to the floor. The way we dress sends messages to others, about who we are, how we want to be treated, and what we want to be.

Come to think of it, do we as girls want men to look at and love our beautiful bodies, and treat us like things? Or do we want men to like us for our inner beauty, our personality, our talents, our intellect, and have them treat us as something valuable and precious?

And then, as men, do you want girls to love you for your handsome face, your muscular figure, and trendy pants? Or would you rather have girls love you for the person you are inside, your talents, intellect, and your personality? (Actually, you'd probably love to be admired for being beautiful or handsome, as well as smart, good, and talented, right?)

James E. Faust said, "Upon returning from living in South America I was struck by the lack of self-esteem revealed in the manner by which so many people now clothe themselves in public. To attract attention, or in the name of comfort and informality, many have sunk not only to immodesty but to slovenliness. Against their own self-interest, they present themselves to others in the worst possible way. In forsaking the great principle of modesty, society has paid a price in the violation of a greater but related principle--that of chastity. The purveyors of the concept of irresponsible sexual relations that degrade and brutalize the participants have grossly masqueraded and completely missed the purpose of these divine gifts."

A lot of students do not dress to provoke bad thoughts in the opposite gender, nor do they wish to infringe upon the high school's dress code. They just can't find anything that's modest in the stores. Here are some interment sites where you can find modest clothes, and beautifully modest Prom dresses. http://www.greatlengths.com/ http://www.ldsgowns.com/ http://www.modestbydesign.com/Home/index.html http://www.tznius.com/ http://www.ldsbridal.com/store.html?item7381.html www.sabrinanicole.com www.Dreszing.com www.GoodWords.net
